studio.geo-?

critical cartography;
mentorship; community-engaged work

studio.geo-? is an experimental geographic research, teaching, and design studio, located at the University of California, Berkeley. Projects hosted by the studio work across maps and media to produce critical and collaborative geographic work focused on the question of how we represent our worlds. This studio is supervised by Clancy Wilmott.

Out of the studio, we host Undergraduate Research Projects (URAP), independent study for graduate students and undergraduates, and community-engaged work. Some examples can be found here. You’ll never know what you walk into: papermaking, linocutting, experimental GIS, movies, video games, movie editing, interviews, and training and breaking AI models.
